Luciano Crispilli is both a violist and luthier. He divides his time between performing in the viola section of the La Fenice Opera Orchestra in his home city of Venice, Italy and making instruments. This interesting and characteristic viola signed by the maker and dated 1979 displays an endearing rusticity reminiscent of early Milanese school instruments. It’s large size is complemented by a sizable, robust tone.
